I first met Ruth at the Free Fall Art Show last year as she was selling her herbal remedies and found out about her organic farm and retreat center.
Branch Mill Organic Farm greatly cares about organic farming dedicating a whole page on their website describing why it is important… from the right brain finding beauty in natures little critters to the left brains logically protecting ourselves and our environment. Their 10 acre farm is still sprouting with 5 acres being farmed currently with plans to expand.
They have planted a fruit and berry orchard, and have many plots of vegetables including 5 kinds of winter squash, corn, watermelons, garlic, 4 kinds of potatoes, 3 kinds of kale, chard, arugula, parsley, cilantro, and many medicinal herbs as well as raspberries, ollaberries, and lemons. For summer season, they have many different varieties of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, tomatillos, and more to come. They also have a 6,000 sq foot greenhouse we are restoring to grow seedlings and unique herbs and edible flowers.
The produce is sold at their farm stand at 2815 Branch Mill Road. Arroyo Grande CA 93420. Click here to find out what is available currently.
The Farm is not only a place where organic food is grown but is also home to a retreat center surrounded by native plants, trees and butterflies. Yoga classes, meditation and events are held there honoring the spirit in which their healthy food nourishes.
