We had a lovely time walking around and talking to everyone at our Thursday night SLO farmers market.
When we started on the Eat SLO path of knowing our food and Farmers. We did a lot of research and studied up on what the words: Sustainable, Local, and Organic mean. We talked to:
- Growers
- Providers
- Suppliers
- Preparers
- Consumers
We then wanted to take it a step further and get to know and support our SLO (Sustainable, Local, Organic) Farmers. We went around to get to know them, talking with them all and asking questions to see who did what. We got to know who was who. The ultimate goal was to find the Eat SLO food sources, organize them into a network and share it with our community.
Did you know we have amazing Farmers Markets in our SLO County? They have tons of good food and entertainment. Tonite we went to The SLO Farmers Market and this is what we saw…

Cal Poly Organic Farm’s carrots beets greens and awesome squashes (these make delicious soups)

Mt. Olive is our favorite SLO farm. Fact: their first product was sprouts. Try their sprouts, yummy treats dried fruit, super yummy nougats.

We LOVE bliss cafe and their karma free food. Do yourself a favor and try their Chocolate Moose Pie

Le Fort’s Organic Crop Farms has a wild variety of colorful carrots.
